Thinking of you... and our loved ones.
Yesterday, I visited the bench... and sat there for a long time, thinking about Christine and the others.  I noticed that it had just been Rhiannon's and Trey's birthdays.  What special days I am sure they were... and what wonderful memories we have.  It was a very hot day, but it was cold by the ocean, and I needed to put on my sweatshirt.  The waves were crashing over the rocks.  I miss Christine every day... as I am sure you miss your girl.  But, I always feel closer to her when I am near the ocean.

Take care.

Hey Rhiannon,

Mum, Dad, Fes and Oscar want to wish you a happy 26th birthday. We hope you are somewhere on a white beach, or on the ocean catching some wind and sun ruffling the sails.

This year, your birthday is during the Full moon phase, and also on the 26th. Lately, we have been having evening thunderstorms here in eastern Oregon. We were hoping to be able to watch a storm during the night, so we could catch sight of another Moonbow, like the one we saw years ago while bringing you home from the airport when you returned from New England.

We are going to the local Animal Shelter to donate in your name, some food and things, for the animals, because that is what you most would likely do.

Happy Birthday, Love you, Mum, Dad, Fes and Oscar

Rhiannon,

It has been 3 years since we were anxiously awaiting your arrival  from the transport of Flying Colors.

You were in the Full phase of the moon, and it must have been beautiful to have it as a guiding light through the nights.

Paradise is not some place you can look for, because it's not where you go, rather, it's how you feel for a moment in your "life" when you are part of something. If you find that moment........................... IT LASTS FOREVER ...............  movie; " The Beach"

Better pass boldly into that other world in the full glory of some passion, than to fade and wither dismally with age......" unknown"

They may forget, but they will never forget how you made them feel.......... "unknown"

Our hearts are always with you,     Mum and Dad, Fessy and Oscar Meyer  ...................... Unconditional Love

Hello to everyone who regularly visits this site and helps to continue the well wishes and inspiring love for the lost ones of the 4 sailors. I am ever grateful to be among the Borisoff family, as if any of you knew my dad, Hank, you would remember what a character he was. I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting Mike or his lovely wife or daughter, but dad spoke highly of their visit here in Oregon in years past.

It was Hank's wife, Carol, who first mentioned to me the loss of the boat and its crew over a year ago. I kept hoping and thinking that most are eventually found at sea, and with today's technology and experienced ocean coast guard members, the missing would reappear. It saddens my heart to begin to imagine the pain of the losses, and I would appreciate you knowing that you will be in my prayers for always.

Hank and Ruth Borisoff also had a son, Byron, my older brother, who now resides in Portland, Oregon. As for me, I live in Eugene, Oregon, Ruth is remarried, lives in Pismo Beach, California.

If anyone would like to contact me, my e-mail address is lifesaride45@yahoo.com  (Lifes a Ride because I ride a motorcycle and horses:)

Thank you for accepting my request to post on this site, God Bless. Karen Ann Borisoff

I LOVE this picture... how very special it is...  This stone is so very unique.
We each miss our loved ones every day and in many ways...  But, I am confident that they are here with us in spirit... and that we must go forward and celebrate their lives.

The attached photo in this email is one of a Dreamcatcher that Rhiannon made in the early 1990's. Rhiannon is a very sentimental person that kept almost everything. For some reason, she put the Dreamcatcher out for sale at a yardsale we had just before she headed out for college in 2003. After the loss of the 4 sailors, a friend asked about the Dreamcatcher Rhiannon made. We stated it had been purchased at that sale, and that we no longer knew where it was. A local friend was talking about the subject of the Dreamcatcher over a cup of coffee, and discovered, a local merchant had purchased it. She loved the simple beauty of it.

The merchant brought the Dreamcatcher home and displayed it in her entryway, hanging it on a sailboat, made by a Mixtec Indian that had visited her home. The sailboat the Dreamcatcher was hung onto was also made of simple jute twine and red willow sticks. They complimented each other perfectly.

It creates an allignment of thoughts that makes one wonder. Do Dreamcatchers really capture your dreams?

A friend Rhiannon grew up with stated "let this Dreamcatcher and Rhiannon's memory be found ruffling the sails of future dreams".  We Love you, Mum and Dad

Rhiannon always loved objects that had the shape of a heart. She loved everything about LOVE. Wherever she went, she was observant at looking for objects such as broken glass, seashells, rocks and leaves that were in the heart shape. She would save these to her collection.

One day,a few months after the loss of the sailor's, Rhiannon's Mom was hiking with a friend on a mountain road when they came upon a stone the size of a football that was in an almost perfect heart shape. They found some sticks to use as digging tools and were able to extract the stone and brought it home.

A few weeks later, we remembered that Rhiannon and her parents had made plans to hike to the top of the Lonesome Pine Tree Mountain. The event never came about.  An idea came forth, and we decided to hike up to the spot and set the heart shaped stone on the top of that mountain. We brought along her best friend "FESTER" our yellow lab to take part in the outing. We set the stone, and the photo shows her best friend along side the Memorial we placed as a tribute to her.
